River Legacy Living Science Center serves as the gateway to the adjacent River Legacy Parks. Nestled into a clearing of existing land contours and oak groves, the 12,000-square-foot nature center has a sustainable design that has a minimal impact on the environment. The Center is operated by River Legacy Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, and houses the Foundation’s environmental education programs, including Nature School!

River Legacy Parks, located next to the Living Science Center at Green Oaks Blvd. & Margaret Street, is the crown jewel of the City of Arlington’s park system. The 1,300-acre park (much of it still in its natural environment) is maintained by Arlington’s Parks and Recreation Department, while the Foundation has been instrumental in providing financial support for many of the parks’ amenities. These include the grand pavilion, river overlooks, trails, pedestrian bridge, and most recently, a canoe launch. The Foundation’s many special events held throughout the year help support the park improvements and the educational programming of River Legacy Living Science Center.
